What is STRIVE?
STRIVE is a one week drop in Tyndall Park Community Centre summer program initiated by a group of university students from different fields of study. It was launched in the summer of 2010. With a successful turn out and positive response in both 2010 and 2011 we have decided to do it again this year!
Our goal is to provide kids the opportunity to participate in a variety of activities including hip hop dancing, arts and crafts, science experiments, martial arts, and LOTS of games. Through the STRIVE program, we hope to deliver valuable lessons of fair play, team work and even health awareness. Our aim is to inspire kids to explore different hobbies and to learn more about themselves and their abilities. Most importantly, through these activities we hope to instill in the kids the confidence they need to make goals, and strive to reach them in order to become the best that they can be.
Who is it for?
This program is offered for kids anywhere from 6 to 16 years old. We have activities specifically catered to the younger as well as the older kids.
How much does it cost?
The program is completely free, so come out and have some ridiculous fun with us! We are able to keep this program free thanks to the fundraising efforts throughout the year, donations from the St. Vincent de Paul organization as well as individual donations from our STRIVE volunteers.
